Oregon: America's Pinot Mecca?

In the last decade, the Willamette Valley in Oregon has been placed as one of the ideal places on the planet to grow pinot noir. It is climatically very similar to Burgundy, with which is also shares the 47 degrees latitude. The ideal weather conditions for Pinot Noir, coupled with availability of great terroir has given birth to some great local producers, as well as encouraged leading Burgundian producers to expand their winemaking to Oregon.
