Chateau de Respide sits in the Graves region of Southern Bordeaux, well known for its namesake gravelly soil. Owner Franck Bonnet and his family have farmed this property since the mid 50’s. They strive to create an easy drinking wine with a minimal amount of intrusion into the winemaking process. We're pleased to offer a red and white blend from Respide.
The Estate's brush with greatness came with painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, who loved come to the property and play endless games of pool with his cousin Louis Pascal. Pascal's father, Ernest Pascal, was the prefect of Bordeaux and built the present castle in the middle of the nineteenth century. The younger Pascal was a portrait subject of Lautrec's and was featured several times in paintings. An avid wine fan, Henri de Toulouse-Lautreec was crazy about the white wines of the property.
