It is in the heart of the charming village of Pernand-Vergelesses, real jewel of the Côte de Beaune, that is situated Laleure-Piot since three centuries.
Since it has been took over by Champy in 2010, the 10 hectares of vineyards have been completely converted to organic and biodynamic viticulture.
The production which is coming from the villages of Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-les-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Chorey-Les-Beaune, has a good proportion of 1er Crus and Grands Crus red and white wines.
The organic certification from vintage 2013 will conclude this dynamic towarda higher quality ambition for this wine area.
Moreover, the Laleure-Piot range is now enriched with additional productions coming from the “Mountain of Corton” neighborhood.
Winemaking
The control of the yields, the short pruning, the disbudding, the leaf plucking and the hand picking are effectively contributing to an optimum maturity of the grapes.
Since 2010, modernization of equipment is improving the reception of the grapes which are sorted out on a vibrating table and vinified into temperature controlled stainless steel vats before pressing and filling in oak barrels by gravity.
The initial part of the tending in oak barrels lasts about 10 months before we make the first racking.
The wines will be bottled after 11 to 20 months tending depending on the appellation, the vintage and the color of the wine.
