Absinthe Frappe

Classic Cocktail compliments of The Violet Hour, Chicago, IL

1 ounce St. George Absinthe Verte

¾ ounce simple syrup

Lemon oil, for garnish

*Swizzle in a julep tin cup with crushed ice and top with more ice to create a snow cone. Garnish heavily with lemon oil.

Absinthe is traditionally made using a variety of ingredients, but there are a few that typically remain constant in the production of this spirit – Artemisia Absinthium (Grand Wormwood), Green Anise and Fennel.  In the St. George Absinthe, we choose to use Star Anise vs. Green Anise.  Although Green Anise is more traditional, our selection of the Star Anise adds a natural sweetness that helps balance the spirit on the palate
